Eligibility & Required Documents

Are You Eligible?

  • Type of Business: The MSME must be a street vendor, operating either permanent or temporary stalls, or travelling between locations to sell goods including food and beverages.

  • Malaysian Ownership: The company owner and any partners must be Malaysian citizens.

  • Registration Requirements: Must be registered with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) / Local Authority / District Council.

  • Grant Exclusivity: Cannot be a recipient of both Geran Digital Penjaja MADANI and Geran Digital PMKS MADANI.

  • Previous Digitalisation Matching Grants: MSMEs must not have received previous Digitalisation Matching Grants.

What are the required documents?

  • Individual Identification: Copy of identity card or passport of director(s)/partner(s)/proprietor(s) and

  • Business Identification: Business registration documents / SSM business profile, Business License from Local Authority / Operation Permit / License from the District Council whichever is applicable.

  • Financial documents: Latest two-month bank statements

  • Invoice: Invoice/quotation issued by Digitalisation Partners.

  • Other Documents: Latest electricity bill/water bill

Application & Selection
Street vendors can apply for the grant through our online portal, selecting the Digitalisation Partners (DPs). The grant is open to street vendors meeting specific eligibility criteria

Approval Process
Funding Societies will review applications. Approved street vendors will be notified.

Service Delivery & Payment
Upon approval, the chosen DPs will deliver the digital services to the street vendors. The Grant covers an amount of up to RM 1,000.

Disbursement
Once services are delivered, DPs are to submit a claim form with proof of delivery. Upon approval, the approved grant amount will be disbursed to the DPs.

  • What Is The Geran Digital Penjaja Madani?
    • The Geran Digital Penjaja Madani is an initiative grant provided by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia in collaboration with Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDEC), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to assist street vendors in utilizing digital services in their daily business operations ("Initiative").

    • As announced in the Madani Budget 2023 presentation, the Government will provide a grant of RM1,000.00 (Malaysian Ringgit: One Thousand Ringgit) only from the total invoice amount for each eligible vendor to help them subscribe to digital services to enhance the competitiveness and productivity of their businesses.
  • What are the details of Geran Digital Penjaja Madani?
    • Not eligible for vendors who have already received the Geran Digital PMKS Madani.
    • This grant is limited to only one (1) application per vendor.
    • Validity Period - This grant is provided by the Government and is subject to the allocated funds.
    • Fees - No fees are charged.
  • What Digital Services are available under the Geran Digital Penjaja Madani?

    Digital Payment / Electronic Point of Sale (e-POS): The use of software such as Point-Of-Sale to facilitate the vendor company operations.

  • Who is eligible to apply for the Geran Digital Penjaja Madani?

    Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible and encouraged to apply:

    Immobile : Vendors who operate permanent stalls in public or private areas, displaying goods for sale (including food and beverages).

    Mobile: Vendors who travel from one location to another, with or without vehicles, displaying goods for sale (including food and beverages).

    Temporary: Vendors who operate temporary stalls in specific locations, displaying goods for sale (including food and beverages) for a certain period. This includes seasonal fruit stalls, promotional stalls for celebrations/festivals, night markets/daily markets/farmers' markets.

  • What documents are required to apply for this Initiative?

    Applications should be accompanied by the following supporting documents:

    • Copy of the sole proprietor or partner’s Identification Card.
    • Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) Registration document / Business License from Local Authority / Operation Permit / License from the District Council.
    • Bank statements for the last two (2) months.
    • Current electricity bill / water bill.
    • Any other supporting documents that may be required by BSN from time to time.
  • What is the amount allocated for each Vendor under this Initiative?

    The grant amount for each vendor is RM1,000.00 (Malaysian Ringgit: One Thousand Ringgit) only and will be paid directly to the appointed digital service provider in full or in stages at BSN's discretion.

  • How much do I need to pay upfront?

    You do not need to pay anything upfront. BSN will pay RM1,000.00 (Malaysian Ringgit: One Thousand Ringgit Only) directly to the digital service provider on your behalf.

  • What happens if my application is approved?

    If your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Your chosen digital service provider will begin delivering the services.

  • How do I make the payment?

    You do not need to make any payment. BSN will make a payment of RM1,000 (Malaysian Ringgit: One Thousand Ringgit) only to the appointed digital service provider on your behalf.

  • How will I be informed about the progress of my application status?

    You will be notified via email about the progress of your application status.
