Funding Societies Micro Financing/-i is a business financing product that offers micro credit opportunities to SMEs. As a business owner, you can utilise the opportunities to maintain cash flow and enhance your business day-to-day. We offer both Micro Financing (conventional) and Micro Financing-i product based on the business activities and needs of the SMEs.

How does Micro Financing/-i work?

With Funding Societies Micro Financing/-i, you can apply for a financing amount of up to RM200,000 subject to an interest rate (for conventional) / profit rate (for Islamic) of 0.8% - 1.5% per month and a credit period of up to 18 months. Once you have accepted our offer, we will credit the approved financing amount to you, with applicable fees deducted upfront from the amount.

How long is the credit period?

Depending on your needs and the nature of your financing, you could apply for a credit period/tenure of 6, 9, 12, or 18 months.

How do I apply micro financing online and how fast is the application?

If this is your first time with us, here is a run-through on the application process. You can apply online in just 5 minutes. Step 1: Complete the Application form on our page. Step 2: Submit the documents required for the application. Copy of all Director(s) NRIC/Passport. Latest 6-months Bank Statement. Latest 2 years personal Income Tax Assessment (Optional). Step 3: Check your email for updates on your financing application. Step 4: Accept the approved financing offer from us (if you’re agreeable to the terms). We will credit the funds into your designated business bank account upon successful funding exercise and your repayment cycle shall begin the following month.

What types of businesses are eligible to apply for Micro Financing/-i?

Micro Financing/-i is open to Malaysian SMEs that are formally registered and operating with valid documentation. You may apply if your business is registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). This includes Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, and Private Limited Company (Sdn Bhd). Registered under state ordinances in Sabah or Sarawak such as Sarawak Business Names Ordinance 2014 or local district or municipal councils. Online sellers and e-commerce businesses must still be registered with SSM or relevant authorities. To qualify, your business must meet minimum 30 percent Malaysian shareholding, minimum RM 60,000 revenue per annum (or RM5,000 per month), minimum 6 months in operations, and not be involved in Shariah non-compliant or prohibited activities.

What if my business is not registered under SSM?

You will need a valid business registration before applying for Micro Financing/-i. If you operate in Peninsular Malaysia, you must register your business with SSM. This applies to home-based businesses, freelancers, micro entrepreneurs, and online sellers. If you operate in Sabah or Sarawak, you may be registered under state ordinances, local district councils, or municipal authorities. These registrations are accepted as long as they are recognised by the state government and accompanied by valid documentation. Formal registration allows us to verify your business, review your performance, and comply with Securities Commission Malaysia requirements. Without it, we are not able to proceed with Micro Financing/-i. If your business is currently unregistered, you may register first and reapply once your documents are ready.

What criteria can I use to determine whether my business is eligible for Micro Financing-i?

If your core business involves the trading of alcohol, gambling, pornography, tobacco and dangerous drugs, entertainment-related companies, pork and its by-products, food items that are prohibited under the teaching of Islam such as frogs, snakes, crocodiles, non-Shariah compliant massage parlours, prostitution, interest-based lending, conventional insurance and unit trust agencies, or production and distribution of idols and materials for worship other than Allah, you may not be eligible for SME Micro Financing/-i.

Are there any fees and charges?

Just like any other financing product, the following fees and charges will be applicable. Micro Financing-i: Drawdown Fee 5% and Guarantee Fee 5% of the approved financing amount, deducted upon disbursement. Micro Financing (Conventional): Utilisation Fee 5% and Guarantee Fee 5% of the approved financing amount, deducted upon disbursement.

What if I can’t make my payments on time?

Micro Financing-i: Late Payment Charges which consist of Compensation (Ta’widh) and Penalty (Gharamah) may be imposed at rates up to 10% per annum. Micro Financing (Conventional): Late Penalty Fee RM200 per repayment cycle and Late Interest Fee 0.1% per day (non-compounded) on the amount in arrears.

Can I make an early settlement?

Early repayments are always encouraged, as SMEs are able to save more on interest and profit shared. For Micro Financing (Conventional), the early repayments are subjected to a 2% early repayment fee on the remaining principal amount.

No, getting your financing approved within 15 minutes will not reduce your financing amount. The approved amount is based on the documents and information you provided during the application. If you wish to appeal for a higher amount, please contact our sales team when you receive the offer.
